Many maritime and coastal organisations run on the expertise of a small, experienced team — people who know exactly what they’re doing, but rarely have time to make that knowledge visible, transferable, or legible to the outside world.

That gap has consequences. A funding report that doesn’t land. An onboarding that takes three times longer than it should. A senior person leaving and taking half the operational memory with them. A multilingual team where something always gets lost between the meeting and the minutes.

I work with smaller maritime operators, offshore service companies and ecosystem restoration projects — organisations where the work is serious but the overhead needs to stay lean. What I offer isn’t compliance documentation or audit trails. It’s the layer around that: capturing how things actually work, making sure the right people understand each other, and building the written infrastructure that lets a small team punch above its weight.

I work with international teams across languages, time zones and professional cultures. And I am equally at home drafting a risk assessment for a North Sea vessel crew, synthesising a year’s worth of field notes into a funder report or untangling undocumented processes that live only in engineers’ memory – transforming them into company internal knowledge bases.

An early adopter of AI tools, I use a carefully selected few in my work — for confidential and GDPR compliant transcription, research, and documentation workflows. Not for my own writing, which remains my own. I stay current with developments in this space and can help clients understand where these tools genuinely save time and where the human expert needs to remain in control.
