Are you familiar with AI tools and if so, do you use them in your work?
Thus far, I am familiar with Chat GPT and Gemini. And I follow AI developments with interest. While I am a crystal clear proponent of the value of human intelligence and work done and managed by humans, I see the benefits of AI in some fields. For instance, scheduling appointments. Or producing a summary of a longer, convoluted text, to understand the gist of an upcoming legislation. Which then of course still has to be checked for accuracy. Or for suggesting possible action lists such as for travel or event planning.
That having written, I am very aware of the limits of AI tools. As source of information, they tend to simply regurgitate what was fed into them by humans – comes with all due caveats and limitations. Replacing the work of skilled human translators, graphic designers and illustrators, video makers, musicians, researchers or cloning the voices of voice actors against their will and / or without their knowledge is not among the developments I ever wish to support.
Conclusion. if you explicitly want me to use AI for simple tasks like scheduling or making first summaries of your own texts, then editing them myself, I can and will. For anything else, I will use my own humanoid brain and skills – and where applicable, consult expert humanoid colleagues and / or other info sources and services.
The texts you see on my websites are 100% researched and written by me. I do my own researches in four languages since decades, know my (very varied) sources very well, I have no problems expressing myself verbally and I cooperate with great folks whose creative work I appreciate a lot.
